Dr. Ahmed El Hadki

Dr. Ahmed El Hadki is an accomplished researcher in Physical Chemistry, currently serving as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Yildiz Technical University, where he operates under the distinguished supervision of the University’s Rector, Professor Eyüp Debik.

Dr. El Hadki’s current research focuses on the rational design of a Visible Light Active Heterojunction System, a cutting-edge photocatalytic platform engineered for the simultaneous solar-powered degradation of recalcitrant Pharmaceutical and Personal Care Products (PPCPs) and the generation of renewable green hydrogen. This work, which builds upon his publication record in high-impact journals like FlatChem, Water, Air, & Soil Pollution, and Separation Science and Technology, represents a critical advancement toward a circular economy by transforming environmental pollutants into sustainable energy resources.

Prior to this role, Dr. El Hadki held key research positions as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Laboratoire Interuniversitaire des Systèmes Atmosphériques (LISA) at Université Paris-Est Créteil (UPEC) and the Laboratoire de Physico-Chimie de l’Atmosphère (LPCA) at the Université du Littoral Côte d’Opale (ULCO) in France. During these tenures, his work was supported by the H2020-MSCA-RISE project, focusing on the spectroscopy of molecules of atmospheric interest. Beyond his laboratory innovations, he is a proactive leader in the scientific community, having co-organized international initiatives such as the ATMOS 2020 International Winter School on Atmospheric Chemistry and served as a sponsored participant in numerous global technical workshops funded by the DAAD and the European Commission. Recognizing the need to translate academic data into real-world action, he recently participated in the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) Training for Mediterranean Scientists on Science for Policy in Madrid, equipping him with specialized training to bridge advanced materials science with evidence-informed, regional policymaking for smart cities and a circular economy.
